Almost Done with New Construction.. New Building!!

September 18, 2008

CLOSING IN ON COMPLETION

The walls are up, the roof is on and the interior improvements are well under way. This is one of the busiest stages of the project with crews working on virtually all aspects of the project at once. Emphasis at this time is on the showroom finishes as well as the shop area. Each of these areas have specialized attributes that will make them special places within the facility.

The shop area will have task area heaters, special ventilation, high efficiency lighting as well as fluid delivery systems that make this operation state of the art. The equipment for the new automated car wash has also arrived and will be a welcome addition to the service experience when complete.

The show room will be an all new experience with high ceilings, large windows, specialized lighting and great color accents all tailored to the Chrysler branding. Currently, wall finishes, overhead mechanical, lighting and floor tile work are all ongoing. Coordination of all these trades in one place at one time is a difficult task and Jay Edgar of Perlo McCormack Pacific is doing a spectacular job.

Meanwhile on the outside, the concrete walls are being painted and prepped for the new signage. New glass and a number of overhead doors will all be installed in the next few weeks. The lot area is getting a complete face lift with revised grading, new asphalt, curbs, lighting and landscaping. This work must be done in phases while the business remains open in the existing buildings. Once the move is made to the new facility the shop and showroom buildings will be removed and the new main entrance will be connected. Recently, the facility was expanded with Dick’s acquisition of the adjacent land previously knows as the Walnut Grove apartments. This addition of over one acre will serve to store and display more vehicles directly onsite.

According the contractor, the initial move to the new facility will occur in early October. Existing building demo and front entrance paving should be complete in November. Once complete the NEW DICK’S COUNTRY CHRYSLER will certainly be something to be proud of.
