Grand Opening Feb 21, 2009 for Dick's Country Chrysler Jeep Dodge

Dick’s Auto Group Opens New showroom to Customers with Special “Ribbon Cutting” The Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland helped open the 39,000 sq/ft showroom

Washington County Oregon, home to some of Oregon’s finest wine country, and at least 14 golf courses such as Meriwether National Golf Course and The Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club. It is also home to Intel Corporation’s World Head Quarters and home to Hillsboro Oregon’s new and state of the art Dick’s Country Chrysler Jeep Dodge facility!

With the demolition of their old buildings in Dec 2008, Dick’s just completed their grand opening this weekend, Sat Feb 21, 2009. Hundreds of people local and otherwise came out to show their support and enjoy the festivities. Our local radio station, 99.5 “The Wolfe”, was on site much of the day along with displays from other local merchants such as Enterprise Rental Car and Car Toys. Car Toys provided music through an audio enhanced 2009 Dodge Charger! They did an awesome job. The Oregon Viper Club was there, along with the PT Cruiser Club and a group of Harley Davidson owners. Several recent customers brought their tricked out Challengers and Chargers as well, including a 6 speed manual RT and SRT-8 Challenger. There was a lot of Hemi Orange paint to be seen that day!

The Boys and Girls Club of Hillsboro was represented by a gaggle of screaming and laughing kids. They were there to help open the new 39,000 sq/ft facility via a special ribbon cutting ceremony. At approximately 11:30 AM, they ran through a giant mural of the building to “cut the ribbon”. It was a great time for all.

There was free food and drawings for gifts and prizes throughout the day. Many took advantage of the huge current incentives going on right now to take a new car or truck home. Dick Inukai, President of Dick’s Auto Group, could be seen most of day greeting and entertaining guest with his newest granddaughter in tow. Vice Presidents Scott and Shannon Inukai were there as well along with many more of their family and friends.

It was a much looked forward to event as the buildings that they had occupied for the last 25 years did not provide the level of comfortable unified atmosphere nor efficient experience Dick has always wanted to create for his clients. The new facility brings parts, service and sales all under one roof for the first time ever. This will provide a consistent face and atmosphere for everyone whether you are present to buy your new Dodge Viper or just get a oil change on it!

If you did not make it for the grand opening, you can stop by anytime, have a cup of coffee and just look around. You are also welcome to visit us 24 hours a day online at http://dickscountrydodge.com.

US News and World Reports rated Hillsboro as one of its best places to retire in February 2007. We think it is the best place to live now. Whether you are planning a tour of the local wine country or on your way to the McMenamin’s Grand Lodge or Pacific University in Forest Grove, Dick’s is on the way. Stop in and see us!

Thanks and we look forward to seeing you.

SAMPLE DEALER LETTER TO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS

November 18, 2008

Please contact Congress today to enact temporary financial assistance for the domestic auto industry!! Step-by-step instructions for your participation can be found by clicking on the following link: www.grabdemocracybythehorns.com

SAMPLE DEALER LETTER TO MEMBERS OF CONGRESS

 Dear Member of Congress:

On behalf of my dealership (insert name)____ and my (# of employees) ___ in (City, State) ___, I am urging you to enact legislation that would provide temporary financial assistance to the domestic automotive industry.

Due to the frozen capital markets, manufacturers and auto finance companies, require access to the credit our customers need to buy automobiles from your dealerships. Liquidity and affordable credit is necessary for auto companies to produce cars and trucks and allow auto finance companies affordable lending for our customers.

The failure of one or more of these manufacturers and their component suppliers could eliminate as many as five million jobs. Our industry represents almost four percent of U.S. gross domestic product and represents ten percent of U.S. industrial production by value. Beyond our industry, ordinary Americans on Main Streets across the country would feel the brunt of a meltdown in this industry, including in our local community.

The auto industry, including our dealership, supports dozens of local businesses that are intertwined in our community providing multiple more jobs. I am writing because I fear much of this will be lost and the impact to my community severe if the domestic auto industry is allowed to fail under the weight of the current economic chaos. I believe I have good reason to request your support.

I cannot urge you strongly enough to take action on behalf of my dealership, community, and my industry. Helping our industry in the short-term will have a much lower cost than addressing the effects of a failed industry in the midst of an economic turnaround. Sadly, I fear the price of inaction is greater than my business can bear.

On behalf of our employees and their families, we urge you to enact legislation that will ensure that Chrysler can weather the current crisis and return to health.

Thank you for your time to hear my concerns.

Sincerely,

Almost Done with New Construction.. New Building!!

September 18, 2008

CLOSING IN ON COMPLETION

The walls are up, the roof is on and the interior improvements are well under way. This is one of the busiest stages of the project with crews working on virtually all aspects of the project at once. Emphasis at this time is on the showroom finishes as well as the shop area. Each of these areas have specialized attributes that will make them special places within the facility.

The shop area will have task area heaters, special ventilation, high efficiency lighting as well as fluid delivery systems that make this operation state of the art. The equipment for the new automated car wash has also arrived and will be a welcome addition to the service experience when complete.

The show room will be an all new experience with high ceilings, large windows, specialized lighting and great color accents all tailored to the Chrysler branding. Currently, wall finishes, overhead mechanical, lighting and floor tile work are all ongoing. Coordination of all these trades in one place at one time is a difficult task and Jay Edgar of Perlo McCormack Pacific is doing a spectacular job.

Meanwhile on the outside, the concrete walls are being painted and prepped for the new signage. New glass and a number of overhead doors will all be installed in the next few weeks. The lot area is getting a complete face lift with revised grading, new asphalt, curbs, lighting and landscaping. This work must be done in phases while the business remains open in the existing buildings. Once the move is made to the new facility the shop and showroom buildings will be removed and the new main entrance will be connected. Recently, the facility was expanded with Dick’s acquisition of the adjacent land previously knows as the Walnut Grove apartments. This addition of over one acre will serve to store and display more vehicles directly onsite.

According the contractor, the initial move to the new facility will occur in early October. Existing building demo and front entrance paving should be complete in November. Once complete the NEW DICK’S COUNTRY CHRYSLER will certainly be something to be proud of.

Dick’s Country Chrysler Jeep Dodge Construction

April 28, 2008

Over the past year LRS Architects along with TM Rippey engineers completed the design for the new Dick’s Country Chrysler Jeep Dodge in Hillsboro, OR. The new facility will be constructed by Perlo McCormack Pacific. The jobsite will be run by Jay Edgar as superintendent, along with Dan Pierson as project manager.

On March 21, 2008, the demolition permit was obtained to remove the small detail service building and the process to build a new Dick’s Country Chrysler was underway. The new 38,428 square foot single building dealership will be constructed while the existing showroom and service buildings remain open. Once occupancy is achieved for the new facility later this year, the two older buildings will then be removed.

The first construction step was to remove the asphalt paving where the new building will be located. This material was crushed and stockpiled for later use in filling around the new building. The next step involved grading and compacting soil to the new building floor elevation. Upon completion of this grading, the excavator then dug out the locations where building footings occur. Concrete formwork and reinforcing steel (rebar) was installed and approved by inspectors. On April 16th, the first concrete trucks arrived and the footings and elevator pit were poured.

Working around the footing crews, the electrician and plumber are now installing underslab piping and fixture boxes. Once complete the floor slab, rebar and formwork will commence. The current schedule calls for the main building concrete floor to be placed by the end of April.

Stay tuned for the future plans and action involved in building a new home for Dick’s Country Chrysler.
